Lova CO is a Finnish brand that found in Crossline Furniture the partner to produce some of its made-to-measure metal and upholstered pieces. Among them, a curved sofa stands out: a piece that calls for technical rigour and a sensitive approach to design.
Nordic aesthetics value simplicity, light and soft forms. Translating that language into furniture demands careful manufacturing, in which structure and comfort work together.
What we did
- Curved upholstered sofa: an enveloping form that invites rest and conversation.
- Metal pieces: frames and elements made with precision, ready to receive upholstery or to stand on their own.
- Made-to-measure upholstery: with close attention to fabric tension, seams and the continuity of the curves.
The demands of a curve
A curved sofa leaves no room for imprecision. The frame must follow the shape exactly and the upholstery must sit without wrinkles or deviations. It is by combining metalwork and upholstery under one roof that we can control every stage and guarantee the final result.
Every curve is studied in the technical drawings and checked on the frame before the fabric is applied. The result is a piece that looks simple, but conceals many hours of specialist work.
Metal and upholstery: two crafts, one piece
Combining metal and upholstery makes it possible to create pieces that are light in appearance and robust in structure. Metal provides precision and strength; upholstery adds comfort, texture and warmth. When the two crafts work together from the outset, the result is more coherent and longer-lasting.
