Stone, wood and tradition
In the Bordeaux region of France, a rustic house run as a holiday rental has been given a new lease of life. Crossline Furniture manufactured the made-to-measure furniture and provided the interior design services, creating classic-style interiors that respect the soul of the house and welcome every guest with comfort and authenticity.
Stone walls, natural wood and soft light define the atmosphere. The challenge was to create a warm, timeless setting in which the furniture would feel as though it had always belonged there.
What we did
- Made-to-measure furniture for the living areas: a solid wood dining table, upholstered chairs, sofas and coffee tables.
- Interior design services: from the selection of pieces to the final composition of each space.
- A classic, welcoming style: designed around the experience of guests passing through.
Holiday rental furniture: welcoming guests as if at home
In a holiday rental, furniture has to be beautiful but also robust and comfortable, ready to welcome different guests season after season. We chose solid woods, durable fabrics and neutral tones that complement the stone and timber of the house, creating spaces in which to share a meal, talk or simply rest.
Classic style in a rustic interior
Classic style is all about balance: generous proportions, calm lines and noble materials. In a rustic house, that balance takes on a special dimension, because the furniture has to converse with the stone walls and the timber that define the character of the house.
Solid wood tables with turned legs, sofas with simple lines and fabrics in shades of sand and grey create a timeless setting that enhances the original architecture rather than competing with it.
Furniture and interior design: a single point of contact
When the furniture and the interior design are conceived by the same team, the result is more coherent. From the choice of pieces to the selection of fabrics and accessories, every decision contributes to the same atmosphere. For holiday rental owners, this means fewer suppliers, clearer timelines and a space ready to welcome guests.
At Crossline Furniture, our carpentry and upholstery teams work side by side, which allows us to make pieces such as the dining table and the sofas with the same design language and the same standard of finish.
