Living room of a house at the West Lake Eco Resort in Óbidos, with timber cladding and made-to-measure furniture by Crossline Furniture

Where nature takes centre stage

In a setting where nature takes centre stage, Crossline Furniture was invited to develop the made-to-measure joinery and furniture for one of the houses at the West Lake Eco Resort, in Óbidos.

The project grew out of a close relationship between architecture, material and landscape. Every piece was conceived specifically for this space, seeking a natural continuity between inside and outside while respecting the house’s distinctive identity.

Furniture that belongs to its place

At Crossline Furniture, we believe furniture should do more than fill a space. It should belong to it. That is why every element of this project was designed and made to measure, with particular attention to proportions, materials, finishes and the relationship between each piece and the surrounding architecture.

From the interior furniture to the pieces created for the outdoor areas, the project brings together exclusive solutions that combine functionality, comfort and a timeless aesthetic. These are one-of-a-kind pieces, designed for this place and for the experience of those who live in it.

What we did

Wood, light and natural materials

Wood is the common thread of the project. The wall and ceiling cladding creates a warm atmosphere that carries through to the round tables, the sideboards and the desks. Natural tones, soft textures and simple lines give the interior a serenity that echoes the landscape outside.

In the living areas, comfort takes the lead: generous pieces, light-coloured fabrics and seating designed for moments of rest after a day outdoors. Everything was designed so that the house can be lived in naturally, in any season of the year.

Between water, greenery and flamingos

The closeness of nature is a constant presence. Amid the water, the greenery and the tranquillity that defines the West Lake Eco Resort, the flamingos that inhabit the landscape add an unexpected and delicate dimension to the setting. Their presence reinforces the feeling that, here, architecture and nature are not separate elements but parts of a single experience.

Every detail was considered to establish this dialogue: between inside and outside, between material and landscape, between design and function.

From design to installation

As with all our projects, the process began with design and the selection of materials. This was followed by production at our facilities in Portugal, where joinery and finishes are controlled at every stage, and finally by installation on site, with the precision that a made-to-measure project demands.

This project embodies what we strive for at Crossline Furniture: creating furniture with identity, made to measure for each space and able to remain part of its story. Discover more projects in our portfolio.
