Oak boxes for the Piper-Heidsieck Hors-Série 1982 edition, made to measure by Crossline Furniture

A rare edition deserves a box to match

Some objects tell a story before they are even opened. For the Hors-Série 1982 special edition, Maison Piper-Heidsieck entrusted Crossline Furniture with the bespoke manufacture of the oak boxes that accompany each bottle: a rare champagne, valued at around €1,000 per bottle.

The challenge was clear: to create a box that conveyed the exclusivity of its contents, with the nobility of wood and the precision of a piece of furniture.

What we did

Precision at scale

Producing 4,000 units in wood requires absolute consistency. Every box received the same care in cutting, assembly and finishing, so that each one reached the end customer with the same quality. This is where the experience of our carpentry workshop makes the difference: the precision of series production without losing the artisan touch.

In a production of this size, planning matters as much as craftsmanship. Manufacturing was organised in phases, with quality control at every stage, to ensure the last box has exactly the same finish as the first.

Wood as part of the experience

A wooden box turns the delivery of a bottle into a moment. The weight, the touch and the grain of the oak convey value before the box is even opened, making it an object to keep and display long after the champagne has been served.

That is why more and more luxury brands are looking for wooden cases and promotional pieces: they are durable, reusable and reinforce the perceived quality of the product they accompany.

Bespoke carpentry for brands

The know-how of bespoke furniture goes beyond interiors. In our carpentry workshop, we can develop unique pieces and limited series for brands that want to stand out, such as cases, displays and promotional objects, always with the same rigour we apply to an interior project.

A project that shows Portuguese craftsmanship can be part of the most special moments of the great luxury brands. Discover more projects in our portfolio.
